The Charaideo Men's Hostel was inaugurated on 12th June, 2004 by Prof. P. Bhattacharyya, the then Vice-chancellor of the Tezpur University. Dr. S. Bhattacharyya, Reader in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was appointed as the first Warden of this hostel. Dr. Bhattacharyya continued as a Warden from June 2004 to January 2007. The CMH WebPages have been launched on the 15th Foundation Day of the University, 21st January 2008
Since 2007, the hostel has started publishing an annual magazine- Charaideo. This is the first magazine so ever published from any hostel of the University. In addition, there is a wall magazine published bi-annually. Boarders are encouraged to write articles and express their views in the magazine.
I have already spent 2 months in this hostel and i have really enjoyed much during this period.Interaction with new friends and new enviroment has led me a new dimension to my life.I hope to continue my studies and come out in flying colours.......
